 The Blood Desert is so called because of the red tint to the soil and mountains due to the high levels of iron. There is also plenty of granite, and precious minerals, such as gold. These earthy resources add a nice feature to the Kingdom of Yngoldis and is a great reason why it was claimed by the [[Efrishar]] who colonized this area as well as the elves they displaced.
